Hawassa Hope — Tesfa School
Brand Identity

“Tesfa” is a direct translation of “hope” in Ethiopia's native language; Amharic. A word used to drive the new school initiative spearheaded by the non-profit organization, Hawassa Hope.
Hawassa Hope is a nonprofit organization that focuses on bringing hope to vulnerable children and families in Hawassa, Ethiopia. Hawassa Hope leads initiatives in Ethiopia including small business grants and community sponsorship. Under the creative direction of Ashley Rippke at Rippke Design, HH’s creative team and I collaborated to create a sub-identity for their new project, the Tesfa School. Tesfa is an Amharic expression that means “hope.” This brand communicates Hawassa’s mission to give back to the communities in Hawassa.
