TREND magazine is a completely student-run publication focusing on fashion, beauty, body, and lifestyle for women and men in the Iowa State University community. Although it is managed by the Apparel, Events, and Hospitality (AESHM) Department, TREND utilizes several committees including editorial, fashion, advertising, public relations, art and design, and photography, students from all different majors help produce the magazine.
TREND started in 2006 with ambitious apparel, merchandising, and design (AMD) majors who wanted to give Iowa State a fashion upgrade. Once a week, its members meet to incorporate ideas into each semester’s publication. Below is my personal work in collaboration with the other executive members from Issues 29, 30, and 32, as well as social media work for Issue 31.
Working alongside graphic designers Lindsay Castleman, Maura Timmerman, Rishima Varma, and Josh McCunn, and TREND's Editors in Chief (Quinn Herbert and Claire Corbin) as well as the fashion and beauty directors, we produced Iowa State’s latest issue of TREND Magazine; Chrysalis.

ISSUE 31 — Content Creation
Although I was unable to participate in TREND in-person due to my studying abroad plans during fall semester of 2021, I was aproached by the editors of TREND who asked if I would assist Gracie Erickson in directing the commitee for Content Creation.
The Content Creation team focuses on advertising TREND’s weekly meetings, fundraisers, commitee and director applications, and other events creted by the Event Management team. Myself and Gracie also lead a group of eight young designers in developing their portfolio and greating posts shared on TREND’s social media platforms.
